Choose a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter which will trap the tiny particles that another vacuum cleaner might re-circulate back into the air.

Look for a vacuum cleaner with a tool specifically for the removal of pet hair.

To freshen carpets, sprinkle them, with bicarbonate of sofa and leave for an hour before vacuuming.

Pop a placemat under your doggie bowls so they can be easily wiped clean after each meal.

Before leaving the house to walk the dog, have a paw towel ready for their return.  On a wet/mudddy walk, a small bowl of water is good for a quick paw dip before drying.
